Last Saturday we ventured down to Manteca to help celebrate Ella's 1st Birthday. The drive was thankfully much easier than I had anticipated. And we had a great time. Nonni even came along with us. Ella looked so sweet in her beautiful birthday dress. And Ella's mommy, Steph, seriously impressed us with her baking/decorating abilities! Who knew!?

Black Eye
Reagan slipped and hit her head on the coffee table. Apparently she hit it right on her eyebrow bone. She immediately got a little shiner. Poor baby! She cried a lot at first. But she doesn't even notice anymore. It is healing now and is finely going away. Oh ya, that is lipstick on her forehead. Her Nonni kisses her every morning before she leaves for work and ALWAYS leaves lipstick lips on Reagan's face.
Scotty Update
I got to talk to Scott on Tuesday. He is doing great but, of course, missing home. He is staying very busy and is now a part of the base Honor Guard there. He loves the chaplains he works with and is making the very most of his deployment. I'm sure he will tell you all about his funny and exciting stories when he comes home. However, I have to share just one. His base put on a big party for all the military members to watch the Super Bowl. It sounds like everyone had a great time and it allowed them all some down time and to connect with home in a way. Scott had a blast. During the party, a few games were arranged. One of the games was an Endzone-Touchdown Dance Contest. Of course, Scott had to enter it. One other guy decided to compete against Scott...probably thinking Scott was just some goofy white boy. Scott went first...he did his dance and ended in the splits. The crowd went crazy for him. His competitor just shook his head and turned and walk away. So, Scott won. I'm so proud. He definately finds ways to excite people and lift morale.
Just Playin'
Reagan has totally settled into living at Nonni's house and is really loving it now. Its as if she owns the place! She loves trying to climb the stairs, which scares mommy! She plays all the time...she is such a happy baby. Reagan is making animal sounds now. She loves to stand at the slider and bark at Jerry, Nonni's dog. She gets so excited when Micki the cat makes an appearance and immediately tries to chase after her. Poor kitty. Her favorite animal right now is a cow. She loves 'em. She can moo with the best of them too! I can't believe how much my little girl is growing. She is so smart and is constantly amazing me.
