Reagan Update

Reagan FINALLY had her 18 month checkup today. She is almost 19 1/2 months old! She screamed the entire time, apparently she has a huge fear of the doctor's office. Poor kid! But her doc said she is perfect and very smart. Her vocabulary is very advanced. She's been sleeping in a toddler bed for 2 weeks now and does so great! She hardly gets out of bed when she's not supposed to. Okay, here are her stats...

Weight: 25lbs 6oz
Height: 32inches tall
Head: SHE'S FINALLY GROWN INTO IT!!! Its now average size for her age!

Big Girl Bed!!!

We decided to turn Rea's crib into the transitional bed. It has been two nights so far and she has done great. However, yesterday during nap, I went to check on her and found that she had gotten out of bed. She took 4 pairs of shoes back to bed with her. She had hidden one of the pairs under a blanket. Sneaky little girl! It was hard to keep a straight face and tell her no. I cracked up once I left the room. She has slept great otherwise. We're so proud of her. So far its been an easy transition.

Halloween Night

This was the first real time Reagan could actually take part in the trick-or-treating festivities. We took her to the community center for a short while. She played a few games and got a balloon. The balloon was definately the highlight. There were a few kids with scary masks and that scared Rea at first. She cried for a minute and then was over it. I think she did great.

After the community center, we went to the Middaugh's house. Reagan loves them. She plays just as much with the kids and she does John and Patty. Rea had a blast. She kept sneaking over to the candy bowl and taking more treats. Little stinker. She really had a great time. Scott and I did too. It was such a fun night.

Decorating Pumpkins

Scott carved one for Rea. He did a Dora face and she was so excited. Unfortunately, we were unaware of the molding/rotting it would do since we carved it so early. Woops! But we did get a picture of it in all its glory.

Reagan "colored" the other two with markers. She has the baby pumpkin in her room and she likes to hold while we change her. She talks to it and tells us about the colors on it.

Huntin' Pumpkins

Reagan LOVED the pumpkin patch. She had to point out each one and tell us it was a pumpkin. It was hilarious to watch her try to move the giant ones. She ended up with three, one baby, one smallish, and one regular sized.

Rea's first pumpkin

On saturday, we went to Michael's (the craft store), to do some pumpkin decorating. You just had to buy a pumpkin for $5 and then take it to the decorating station. So, it was pretty much over Reagan's head but she did really well I think. We guided her on where to put the face pieces but she took over from there. As you can see, shapes are randomly placed all over. She loved the little puff balls and insisted that they ALL be stuck on top. She is very proud of her pumpkin and likes to walk over and look at it and tell us about it.

Fire Girl!

This past thursday was fire safety day at the library. Reagan and I went with our good friends Melanie and Adora. The girls had fun getting stickers and listening to stories that the fireman told them. Afterwards, the firemen gave out fire hats, coloring books, and stickers. And we got to go outside and see their firetruck. Reagan was most concerned about the hat. She loves the darn thing. She is still wearing it around the house!

Reagan's first zoo trip!

Scott and I took Reagan to the zoo earlier this month. She LOVED it!!! Reagan insisted on walking the entire time and by the end of the day you could tell she was exhausted. She would trip and stumble but still wanted to walk to the animals. The first exhibit we saw was the birds and she thought they were hilarious. She would crouch down to see under the bars and just crack up at the silly birdies flying around. It was pretty funny to watch her screeching "TWEET TWEET" at the birdies. She also loved getting to pet a bunny. At the Dallas Zoo, there is a "Children's Zoo" that was perfect for Rea. Everything was at her level so she could really see what was going on.

We are so happy that we took her there and can't wait to go again.

there are no words...

She just cracked me up with this. Laying on the floor in her pretty dress, wearing her VeggieTales backpack, while reading Scott's Men's Health Magazine. She is just silly.

Dad's Anniversary

Scott and I both took the day off of work this day. We spent the day together as a family and just spent the day relaxing and remembering my dad. We took Reagan to the park and had a picnic lunch. We had a really nice time together. Its nice to remember my dad and to talk about him. Scott really enjoys it too. Even though they never met, Scott feels like he knew dad. In many ways, he reminds me of my dad. Reagan had no idea that the day was any different than usual, but its become tradition for us and when she's older she'll enjoy it I think.

Our little artist

Reagan LOVES to color. Luckily, she stays on the paper...for now. She has only tried to eat her crayons once.

She swims...in the tub!

Reagan has always enjoyed bath time and splashes like crazy! Now she lays down in the tub and kicks her feet while splashing with her hands. Oh the mess! She is always excited for a bath too...whenever we walk into the bathroom, she says "TUB" and tries to climb in. Crazy kid!

Oh, and here's a pic of Rea on the potty. Can I embarrass her with this later?

Mommy & Reagan are baptized

On July 12th, Chaplain Duncan baptized me and Reagan. It was really awesome to have him do this. We consider him family and it was really special that he could baptize us. A few of our very close friends were also there with us. It was a great day and we loved be able to share it with our "family" out here in Texas.

Way behind...

Okay everyone, I know I haven't posted in a LONG while. I'm sorry. Life has been so crazy busy. But its awesome. Scott, Reagan, and I are all doing great. We just moved into a new house on base and we LOVE it! We have ceiling fans AND carpet...its amazing! :) We also found out a week ago that we are expecting another baby. We couldn't be happier. We still can't believe how quickly it happened...we sure are blessed. I think Reagan is going to be an awesome big sister. Anyhow, there's a little update for now. I plan to get a bunch of new pics on here in the next few days!

My Awesome Hubby!

Scott just won NCO (non-commissioned officer) of the quarter here at Sheppard Air Force Base. That means he was chosen over every other Staff and Tech Sergeant that was nominated at our base. He is so deserving of the award. I am so proud of him. He continues to do amazing things and he pushes himself to be the best.

Also, a couple weeks ago, Major General Flowers coined Scott for his extraordinary service while in Iraq. He spoke with us for a few minutes and expressed how proud he was of Scott. At the end of the conversation, we were saying Good Bye and Reagan blew the General a kiss. It was so sweet and totally unprompted. He blew a kiss back to her which just tickled us. This important, serious, 2 Star General, blowing kisses to our baby. Too funny!

4th of July

This 4th, we spent it with our friends the Duncan's (Chaplain Duncan, his wife Rhonda, and their awesome kiddos) and the Middaugh's (John, Patty, Tiff, and Brian). We had such a great time and Reagan loved swimming with the kids. It rained and stormed so we ended up watching fireworks off in the distance and lots of lightning. It was great fun!!!

Miss Rea

Rea is 15 months old now. I can't believe how big she is! At her doctor's appointment she was 22lbs 7oz and almost 31 inches tall. She is finally growing into her big ol' head! She walks now, FINALLY! I guess she walks about 50% of the time. She says so many words I can't keep up. She'll tell me "shhh, papa seeping (sleeping)". And in the morning she says "nigh nigh, all done". Which means she is ready for me to come rescue her from the crib.
